EMC & M&a's Day on the Green

After an Aussie BBQ and full bellies all round we hit the green for some bowling action. Branching into our aptly named teams, Kiss the jack, Rocknbowler, lucky strike and Cut the grass, we soon formed an allegiance within our teams and the competitive streak in all of us was slowly exposed. There were some "blockers"some "draw shots" and plenty "Dead bowls" but the action didn't stop there. As it got to sudden death Cut the grass took out the title and very humbly at that!.Kiss the Jack came in third with their team member Sara taking home the horses ass award!
The prize pot didn't stop there. Check out some of the award winners below.


Best Bowling Style awarded to the person with the most unique bowling style went to Betsy.











"Loch Ness Award" for whoever's ball is least likely to be found close to the white ball was awarded to Davina.

















The Rookie Award for someone who has never played lawn bowls before but is actually good at it went to Sarah G

What better person to kick off with than Glenn Whitehead M&a's newly appointed Creative Director, or as we affectionately know him GlenNNNNNNN. And while he has his finger firmly on the pulse and throughout his career has achieved feats most Creatives only dream of his greatest achievement is still his 8 week old son Sam. How long Have you been at M&a?A little over 4 years



What is the work that you are most proud of? I think the Audit Bureau Re-brand was great. It was a strong simple concept executed well and it is standing the test of time well. Still fresh looking and looking like it will stay that way for years to come. That said I'll probably be most proud of the project I'll do next.





What are your Hobbies and interests? Surfing, Climbing, Travel, Architecture and design as a whole.


Describe an interesting Milestone in your life My first trip to Mexico with my now wife was a real eye-opener and hooked me on travelling. We covered everything from 5 star resorts to a 3 walled stick hut in the jungle surrounded by spiders the size of your fist!

Who is your favourite Photographer/artist/ actor or inspiration?David Downton, Fashion Illustrator for Vogue. In a handful of brushstrokes he can create the illusion of detail effortlessly. you can check out his work here http://www.daviddownton.com/

Well you wouldn't believe some of the things we've stumbled across this week, from Disturbing Facebook statistics to giant shrines to "Matt" it's all in a days work for the team at M&a. A social media survey into the habits of Australians and their activity on Social Media has uncovered some disturbing results! Some Aussies (2.8% to be precise) would stop during an "intimate moment" to respond to a Facebook update or a tweet. It isn't surprising to note that 64% of them are men! 885 people aged between 18 through to 70 and beyond were survey and the results are startling! Other results include 3.2% have admitted to stopping and using Facebook in a "Place of worship". This really does make you stop and wonder how on earth did we cope without the modern day necessity that is Facebook!

So you think you can Facebook?

Brands and Marketers even those of the top names such as google, Microsoft and Starbucks are struggling to derive value from their Facebook presence. According to a new study by Forrester Research the survey of over 500 United States and European marketing professionals found that most were failing to use Facebook to its full potential. This is apparently due to a lack of focus an understanding of Facebook, the resources available on it and its measurements.


One of the giant face's of Social Networking, Shona Mackin, who is chief engagement officer of the Facebook agency Socialface, agreed that brands' Facebook pages were often neglected.This emphasises that building a Facebook presence is a long-term process as explained by Shona Mackin

"It’s not about creating a great looking logo, or a running a one-off campaign - things that traditionally marketers have been excellent at. It’s about having a conversation, being social, and demonstrating that you’re a company worth doing business with."



And with saying this to all you employees who are secretly on Facebook during work time hours or even those who have convinced their co-workers/boss that it is for the benefit of the company, get off Facebook and do some proper work with statistics behind it that show that your a benefit to your place of work.

The share a coke campaign that sees peoples names being put on coke bottles has been a phenomenal success. Weather you love it or loath it Ogilvy is onto a good thing. There really is no escaping it. The latest addition is this giant billboard at Kings Cross. I couldn't help taking a Snap on my way home yesterday.

What A Busy Bunch we've been!

Oh boy we've been a busy bunch! The folk here at M&a have been executing a variety of campaigns across an assortment of mediums over the past month check out what we've been up to:

TetraPak- Carton Cool Campaign, Vietnam
M&a were invited to participate in an exciting competitive pitch for this global packing brand for a brand building campaign in Vietnam. We can't reveal too much right now, as the process continues, but it's enough to say it's a very "cool" and "trendy" opportunity to expand into this rapidly developing powerhouse of South East Asia.


PAFtec
your ears may be filled with water but breathe easy old mates, M&a has just taken the lead on the new power respirator, that's going to fill your lungs with the "Evian" of filtered air! What's that you say? You're still breathing regular, every-day air? How embarrassing, that was so last week...

Motorola
M&a have launched a lead generation campaign in conjunction with Motorola and Docomo based around a national travelling Roadshow. In addition to the Lead Generation Campaign we have been engaged to create a post event sales kit to coincide with the campaign.


Lexus
We have completed our below the Line Campaign utilising marketing automation software resulting in over 7000 new leads!!


Frost & Sullivan Excellent Awards 2011
The frost and Sullivan Excellent Awards 2011 were held at the Sheraton on the Park on the 27th October . It was attended by over 90 individuals and was the fifth time M&a has collaborated with Frost and Sullivan to produce a night worth remembering! The Event saw the return of Andrew Everingham as MC and saw the presentation of 18 awards on the night. Some of the award winners included Telstra, Cisco Systems and Salesforce , to name a few! Overall it was a great night, with a happy audience who really enjoyed themselves. Another satisfied client!

Two Client's Feedback On Standard M&a Standards:





M&a Team

As you know, I’m not usually one for handing out gushing praise and my standards are very high, but as I reflect on EMC’s participation at vForum 2011, over the last couple of days, it fills me with immense pride to be part of this team.

The execution was calm, organised, incredibly well planned and nearly flawless with incredibly tightly integrated messaging. If that was the competition then we are definitely winning the marketing battle as we out thought the competition….so much so that we had several other sponsors coming over to our stand commenting on our presence (Presentation by Scott Drummonds, Stand Presence, Demo’s, Boat on Darling Harbour, Social Media, PR etc….) and the buzz that we have created at the event! Our stand was packed for 2 days and we created a real atmosphere.

An huge amount of Marketing Leads were completed which are now being qualified by the LDR team.

Congratulations team – reflect on a really great job. Please pass this onto anyone I might have missed in the M&a team.



Hi Nicole, Pat

I want to thank you for all your hard work and project management of our vForum event, it was a great event and we had a lot of impact at the show, we collected over 500 leads and over 1000 entry forms. The Promotional staff were fantastic and all the booth elements came together very well.

I would also like to make a special mention to Nicole, Pat I know you are away in Singapore and are across all the elements involved, however we were left in great hands I really feel that Nicole has done such a fantastic job to make sure that everything was delivered on time and to brief and deserves a special mention, I was really impressed with how Nicole has stepped up in her role, well done.

Just a few weeks ago M&a were given the opportunity to re-fresh Trend Micro's visual identity across APAC. A challenging brief, with a tight deadline (when are they not!), we were asked to develop a suite of templates which would be sleek, have cross-cultural relevance, resonate with multiple audiences and reiterate Trend Micro's position as market leaders.

And, fresh off the press, here is the first example of how Singapore has taken our templates and tailored them to their needs.

A great example of M&a's ability roll out work across the region which works for our clients' needs, whether it's in Singapore, Sydney or Sapporo. Look out for more examples, as our guidelines filter out to every corner of the region!

Shine A Light.












































M&a was the helmet-headlight for Mine Site Technologies involvement in AIMEX.

M&a dug right into their first exercise with their brand new (and happy) client, MINE SITE TECHNOLOGIES, at Mine Site's launch in the c Show at Sydney Showground Olympic Park this morning.


Held only once every four years, AIMEX is the event for mining industry buyers and specifiers from throughout the Asia-Pacific region to source new products, technologies and services from new and existing Australian and international suppliers. AIMEX also provides trade visitors with a valuable opportunity to obtain vital technical information and network with industry colleagues in an interactive business environment.


This event runs until this Friday 9th September. Check out some pictures of the stand during the bump-in and opening of the show here:


M&a struck gold again! Well done to creative team and everyone involved in the project that led to a stunning stand!

Aloha.

Those trying to keep up with M&a’s recent projects could be excused for having water in their ears as we are riding the waves harder than Taj Burrows these days. So; here is an update just for you:

Coca Cola (Glaceau Vitamin Water)

M&a Launched a new sub brand for the world’s largest soft drink manufacturer, with ‘through the line’ creative executions and activations to some two million people; island wide.

Google Enterprise

M&a also rolled out the first ever road show for Google. The Google road show toured across six cities and four countries; Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong and India, in APAC with over 2000 attendees. The road show exceeded expectations by some 137%.

Lexus

M&a have been operating as the Lexus customer call centre and fulfilment house: providing a superior level of customer service to their owners for over a year now. Lexus have been so impressed by M&a’s delivery that they have recently engaged M&a to deliver their below the line marketing. M&a are utilising a sophisticated marketing automation tool which allows for personalised engagement of prospects to nurture them through the sales cycle.

Experian

M&a were engaged to deliver the inaugural Australasian Retail Credit Risk Conference in Australia. M&a were chartered with delivering an event that paid for itself by securing 150 paid delegates. M&a exceeded expectations with 192 registered delegates which allowed the profits to be donated to charity.

Mac Bank

One of Australia’s largest banks got a national through the line campaign treatment for its annual online trading competition. Attracting over 4500 competitors, and new business leads.

Sophos

M&a were engaged to roll out a series of lead generation campaigns for Sophos Endpoint Security & Data Protection Solution. M&a covered the entire campaign from; conceptualization to; creative implementation including; database acquisition and leads prospecting. The campaign spanned across alaysia, Indonesia and India, achieving successfully response.

Telstra International Group

M&a produced a one minute TVC, for a Global telecommunications provider. The commercial was viewed by an audience of over 120,000 captive members.

UPS

M&a were engaged in UPS Intra Asia campaign. The objective of this campaign was to increase the number of package deliveries from their existing SME customer base. A postcard DM with scenic locations of key target countries was developed. The DM was mailed out to 6000 recipients across Asia and UPS received 12.4% increase in sales volume from this campaign.

Movin' On Up!

M&a have officially moved offices. Our new location, Level 4 (that’s right people- the whole level) 231 Miller Street is simply AMAZING. Complete with; sliding glass doors (Sci-fi), flat screen TV’s (corporate), red egg chairs (hectic) and (my personal favorite) stainless steel see-through fridges,

M&a has gone Mission Impossible style. You may even catch a glimpse of a Tom Cruise look alike as you follow the red carpet through to Scott’s office or the Boardroom. Watch this space for pictures of the padded wall where we keep Pru at reception.
