Jack's School Project

It is that time of year when Year 10 students put in thier end of year work and Jack McCorkell is no different! For his Year 10 film project Jack wrote, presented, filmed, edited, directed and produced (Proud Dad!) with a couple of fellow students an insightful small documentary about the Homeless. Long Weekend Shoe Wars!


The Long Weekend has been and gone but, the competition to have the best shoe purchases rages on! The winner this wet weekend was Jenny with her Suede and Leather follow me homes. From the front or from the side they present well from every angle.

The story is....."Went to buy beige, suede, cool and comfortable. Looks like the boyfriend won’t be getting his new cushions for his apartment just yet!! Couldn’t resist these sexy stilettos…they were an absolute steal at 50% off at Myer (one size too big but, who cares?)"

According to Greg they look like they are “built for speed.” We’ll have to see about that… but for the moment they’re sitting pretty at the reception desk.

Congratulations to Greg in joining not only a great Country but, being fully committed to supporting the Wallabies from today onwards! To show our support we redecorated his office while Greg was out getting his permanent residence! We are all still laughing!

Mary Kay last month produced a number of pull up banners for point of sale displays, shows and events. We don't see a lot of cosmetic companies at M&a so we rushed them through the Photographic Studio in the office for a couple of quick shots so we can post them here!

Harrison McCorkell beats Dad in Marketing Stakes.

Harrison McCorkell and the Mosman under 6's Spain Red, on Sunrise this morning after completing a great season where majority of matches were won. Harrison takes on his father at his own game, with him and his team mates all getting a mention on Sunrise to lift their Spirits and Public Relations.

Only having four weeks to prepare for Alcatel Lucent APAC Connect Cambodia 2009 was like stepping on the gas to whiz through traffic and reaching the destination in record time.



M&a Singapore came up with the idea of holding a community based event in Cambodia for Alcatel-Lucent’s Leadership Conference & CSR Activity for 2009.

The highlight of the event was hands down the house building day. Under the guidance of Tabitha; a non-profit organisation operating in Cambodia, the Alcatel Lucent group hammered non-stop for the 8 hours to complete 50 houses in a rural village of Phnom Penh.

Pinnacle Event For SYBASE

The M&a events team finished April on a high note after successfully producing the 2009 Sybase Summit.

The pinnacle for M&a was the number of registrations and attendees. M&a exceeded the target for delegate registrations by delivering 265 registrations. Jacqui Tracey; M&a Head of Events, considers this result extraordinary saying “not only did we set big goals for our client, we over delivered on those goals”.

Jacqui attests the success to M&a and Sybase committing to a comprehensive communications plan. The focal topic “Beat the market, grow your business in 2009” was successfully transcended across all mediums.

A highlight of the event was speaker Irfan Khan, Sybase Chief Technology Officer, who gave an informative overview of the future of Sybase and it's vision for the 'Unwired Enterprise'. Dr Chris Caton, Chief Economist BT Financial Group, gave a somewhat humorous and poignant take on the current economic climate.

The first inaugural event was deemed a huge success, and a most enjoyable event was had by all!

Business Grows for SYBASE

M&a Singapore's lastest event for Alcatel Lucent had 149 management delegates building houses in a rural village in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Wahooo for Wacom

M&a is thrilled to announce that the management at Wacom have decided to sign on the dotted tablet to retain the creative marketing services & expertise of M&a. Wacom made the announcement after lengthy strategic discussions with M&a and a series of successful projects.

Wacom, the brand synonymous with revolutionary pen and tablet technology is seeking accelerated growth over the coming 12 months as it continues to expand as a consumer brand. M&a will seek to highlight the creative foresight that defines Wacom’s products throughout product launches in the coming year.

This announcement is hot on the heels of M&a producing the media launch of Wacom’s latest release; the Intuos4 tablet series. M&a chose the InterContinental’s Etch Restaurant to host Sydney’s creative media for an elegant event. The afternoon was a great success with the focal points of creativity and artistry coming to life as Chef Justin North’s tantalized guests with his signature Amuse Bouche selection. North proved to be a master at using creative cuisine to showcase the truly innovative Intuos4 product range.

Phil Simmonds, M&a Business Development, is looking forward to new product launches for Wacom in the years to come, saying “M&a loves Wacom’s products; now it’s time to engage consumers so that they too can benefit from the Wacom experience”.



State of Play with M&a!

M&a are a cheerful bunch today after a lovely night at the movies with our clients and friends. Last night, M&a treated guests to a night at the cinema for a special pre release of State of Play.

Leading up to the event we had more registrations than expected and on the night an impressive number filed into George St Greater Union. A turnout of 180 guests proved that few can resist the ultimate combo… an hour of drinks chased down by popcorn, a choc top and an exclusive pre screening.

In the cinema, Russell Crowe and Scott McCorkell battled it out for the limelight. As the night drew to an end it was obvious that neither of them were a match for the wild card entry; the choc tops. The decision was unanimous amongst the sweet tooth’s and pop corn lovers; the snacks topped off a great movie.

A lucky threesome walked away with more than a full tummy and a dose of Ben Affleck. M&a threw in a lucky door prize with the luckiest of the three scoring a trip for two to Cypress Lakes and a day on the golf course.

A big thank you from M&a to all our guests and we are looking forward to the next M&a big night out.

itX marks the spot

After a series of competitive pitches over the past few months, M&a is proud to announce winning the creative services for itX and their channel partners in 2009. itX is considered Australia’s leading value-add distributor of IT software and hardware with some of its key clients including giants such as Sun Microsystems, Apple and Trend Micro to name a few.

Scott McCorkell, Managing Director M&a, was delighted with the win saying “it’s a great honor to be working with such a recognised industry leader”. This is highlighted through the recent awards itX has won -Citrix APAC distributor of the Year, ARN - Winner of Software Distributor of the Year , CRN - Winner of Security Distributor of the Year.

The one that got away...

Welcome back to Scott and Andrew who have just returned from a few days of fly fishing up in the Tasmanian wilderness. Many a story about a huge fish hooked and then lost has already been shared, but strangely there are not too many believers. The McCorkell fishing team had a great time though so we look forward to more stories over the next few weeks.
