Wahooo for Wacom

M&a is thrilled to announce that the management at Wacom have decided to sign on the dotted tablet to retain the creative marketing services & expertise of M&a. Wacom made the announcement after lengthy strategic discussions with M&a and a series of successful projects.

Wacom, the brand synonymous with revolutionary pen and tablet technology is seeking accelerated growth over the coming 12 months as it continues to expand as a consumer brand. M&a will seek to highlight the creative foresight that defines Wacom’s products throughout product launches in the coming year.

This announcement is hot on the heels of M&a producing the media launch of Wacom’s latest release; the Intuos4 tablet series. M&a chose the InterContinental’s Etch Restaurant to host Sydney’s creative media for an elegant event. The afternoon was a great success with the focal points of creativity and artistry coming to life as Chef Justin North’s tantalized guests with his signature Amuse Bouche selection. North proved to be a master at using creative cuisine to showcase the truly innovative Intuos4 product range.

Phil Simmonds, M&a Business Development, is looking forward to new product launches for Wacom in the years to come, saying “M&a loves Wacom’s products; now it’s time to engage consumers so that they too can benefit from the Wacom experience”.

State of Play with M&a!

M&a are a cheerful bunch today after a lovely night at the movies with our clients and friends. Last night, M&a treated guests to a night at the cinema for a special pre release of State of Play.

Leading up to the event we had more registrations than expected and on the night an impressive number filed into George St Greater Union. A turnout of 180 guests proved that few can resist the ultimate combo… an hour of drinks chased down by popcorn, a choc top and an exclusive pre screening.

In the cinema, Russell Crowe and Scott McCorkell battled it out for the limelight. As the night drew to an end it was obvious that neither of them were a match for the wild card entry; the choc tops. The decision was unanimous amongst the sweet tooth’s and pop corn lovers; the snacks topped off a great movie.

A lucky threesome walked away with more than a full tummy and a dose of Ben Affleck. M&a threw in a lucky door prize with the luckiest of the three scoring a trip for two to Cypress Lakes and a day on the golf course.

A big thank you from M&a to all our guests and we are looking forward to the next M&a big night out.

itX marks the spot

After a series of competitive pitches over the past few months, M&a is proud to announce winning the creative services for itX and their channel partners in 2009. itX is considered Australia’s leading value-add distributor of IT software and hardware with some of its key clients including giants such as Sun Microsystems, Apple and Trend Micro to name a few.

Scott McCorkell, Managing Director M&a, was delighted with the win saying “it’s a great honor to be working with such a recognised industry leader”. This is highlighted through the recent awards itX has won -Citrix APAC distributor of the Year, ARN - Winner of Software Distributor of the Year , CRN - Winner of Security Distributor of the Year.

The collaboration is already well under way with several campaigns earmarked for release in early February. Paul Sadler, Marketing Manager itX, said “We need to maintain our position as market leader, and that means using a creative agency who understands our business as well as the many other tiers of business that operate within the IT industry. M&a are at the top of their game and have readily embraced our objective so we’re looking forward to this new relationship.”

The one that got away...

Welcome back to Scott and Andrew who have just returned from a few days of fly fishing up in the Tasmanian wilderness. Many a story about a huge fish hooked and then lost has already been shared, but strangely there are not too many believers. The McCorkell fishing team had a great time though so we look forward to more stories over the next few weeks.

Breaking News... Santa Hacks M&a site

After a very long and tumultuous year, it appears that Santa has resorted to slightly unusual tactics this festive season. Whilst it
was common knowledge that his business was up for pitch, it seemed rather an odd task for any agency to undertake. Now in a very
unexpected move, he has made his choice of agency very clear by tagging M&a’s website and making a statement for all to see.

Click here to see his handiwork: www.mccorkell.com.au

Due to this new business activity we will only be shut during Santa’s busy period of the 19th December 2008 to the 5th January 2009.

From all the crew at M&a we would like to wish you a very safe festive season and we look forward to working with you next year.

Hit by the Truth.

M&a have launched a new national advertising campaign for the Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) and the Circulation Audit Board (CAB), to tie in with the release of their new online data portal - www.auditbureau.org.au

The ABC print and online campaign features the proposition “You never know when the truth will hit you”, with Harold Mitchell, Executive Chairman, Mitchell Communication Group, and Belinda Rowe, Chief Executive, ZenithOptimedia providing their services as talent for the photo shoot. The CAB focuses on the proposition of “Looking for numbers you can trust?” for the ‘Scales’ and ‘Combi’ executions.

Look out for these ads in various National, Metro and Community Newspapers, and other Magazine Publications.

Taking Care of Lorenzo

iSOFT engaged M&a to produce its eagerly anticipated Lorenzo launch – an IT product which seeks to revolutionise the infrastructure of the Healthcare industry globally.

With a goal of attracting 30 key delegates from across the entire healthcare sector, as well as relevant media bodies, M&a implemented an integrated communications strategy. This proved extremely successfully with M&a attracting 120 people – 400 % above their target!

When embarking upon venue selection M&a sort to mirror the client’s current business objectives as iSOFT are currently undergoing a rebranding process. Which this in mind, M&a selected The Sydney Theatre at Walsh Bay. The traditional redbrick façade colliding with an injection of postmodern architecture encapsulated the integration of old and new perfectly. The unique Richard Wherrett Studio on the ground floor was utilised for the official content delivery, complete with a live webcast, an integrated media component and a recording facility. Creative audio visual and lighting was used by M&a to ensure the event differentiated itself from other launches, and remained consistent with the Lorenzo branding. After the briefing session, the upper-deck enabled the buffet luncheon and networking opportunity to unfold in a casual, yet controlled environment. The Ruth Cracknell Room located on the same level enabled delegates to interact with key presenters and iSOFT staff on a one-to-one basis.

Congratulations to the M&a team for yet another memorable event!
